3-Way Style Challenge April: On Repeat

For the LPM April 3-Way Style Challenge, we decided to throw out a real life scenario-- What if you had to wear the same item of clothing two days in a row?  (lost luggage, holding out on doing laundry, going from one event to the next, etc.) We asked 3 local fashion bloggers to style our high-low tribal print top two different ways--- The resulting combinations rocked! Each girl showed us two takes on their own kick butt personal style :)   Who wore it best? Vote for your favorite fashionista in the poll at the bottom--- the winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to La Petite Marmoset! Poll closes Tues 5/1 at midnight.

Blouse available at www.lapetitemarmoset.com

1) Sara (High Fashion 4 Less)
Sara, on her personal style: "My style is classy chic meets modern edgy rocker. I like to pair unexpected pieces together like a bold vintage print top with a structured black short. I also think it's extremly important to wear what you are most confident and comfortable in. Wearing an outfit that's not 'you' will simply translate into a misguided statement."

2) Sai (Because I Am Fabulous
Sai, on her personal style: "My style is fun, sexy, and just me! I chose that [style] because I absolutely love colors and that shirt just gave me life! There was so much to do with it! But I wanted a fun day look and also a night look."

3) Waverly (Pich & Roor
Waverly, on her personal style: "I would describe my style as sporadic. It depends entirely on my mood, sometimes I want to be girly, other times I channel my inner vampire with a dark lipstick. One consistency in my style is that there's usually a lot of leg showing, because it's my favorite body part :)"

So I totally didn't plan to stand in front of that road sign in the first picture--- it looks like I sprouted a pair of antennae à la beetle from last post. Although, I would make a pretty cool beetle--- can you imagine all the colors? Instead of squashing me, you'd want to keep me as a pet ;)

Speaking of colors... I wanted to announce the LPM Denim Giveaway!

Want the chance to win your very own free pair? Here's how!
1) "Share" the giveaway photo on your facebook page.
2) "Like" the giveaway photo on the LPM facebook page to show you entered.

That's it! You have until Tues midnight ET--- winner gets to pick their own style and color :)

Good luck!!

Beetle Juice

Uninvited picnic guest!

Photos by La Petite Marmoset

Hat and necklace- Vintage, Blouse- Vintage (La Petite Marmoset), Tunic- BCBG Outlet, T-shirt bra- Urban Outfitters, Bag- LPM (here), Sandals- Franco Sarto via DSW, beetle- Mother Nature

We took full advantage of the nice weather yesterday with a little sangria-and-Chinese food picnic ("I'd like to place an order for delivery? Address is the blanket in the backyard...")All was well until the biggest beetle I have ever seen in North America (and I used to play outside A LOT) decided to join us!  I was convinced he was a stow away in a shipment of bananas from South America, but Google Goggles (best app ever!) said he was from the "Bessbug" family.  We promptly flicked him far away (but not before snapping the mandatory instagram pictures).  Kept checking my drink to make sure more of his buddies hadn't decided to take a dive...once it got dark they bum rushed our blanket and sent us and our fried meat dumplings running! Beetles, you may have one this time, but we will meet again--- next time I'm bringing an army of stink bugs! *shaking fist*

UPDATE: Tomorrow we will be announcing how YOU can win a free pair of customized pair of LPM denim shorts! Stay tuned :)

Invasion of the Flower Snatchers

We should start selling Jeffrey Campbells--- imagine all the shoe photography!

Denim Jacket- Thrifted/ DIY, Blouse and Suede skirt- Vintage (La Petite Marmoset), Clutch- Vintage (LPM here), Accessories- Mix of vintage, from Colombia, and Forever21, Shoes- Jeffrey Campbell

All the azaleas have come out in our neighborhood--I would have to say this lilac-infused-with-pink-ish color is my favorite! (God, the pastel trend has even taken over my choice in flowers) Alas, they are not mine, this particular bush belongs to a neighbor down the street----decided to borrow it for this blog post. Can we just switch? I swear no one will notice me digging it up...

I dip-bleached this jacket the other day and am loving the end result! The only challenge is getting the bleach smell out (it takes a few washes which I am not willing to wait for/waste water on)... so I just smell intensly of Clorox right now. No amount of Victoria's Secret Heavenly is covering it up--hopefully this will serve another purpose, like keeping away mosquitos. And probably people.

Have you seen our "Supermercado" mini lookbook yet? It's bananas, literally!

So what do you do with two hours, a model and a photographer on a Thursday afternoon? Have a photo shoot at the Latino grocery store of course!  For our April mini lookbook we "invaded" our local MegaMart to shoot neons and brights---- imagine a modern day bad ass Chiquita Banana in 6-inch platforms from Solestruck.  We wanted to shoot earlier but were delayed and ended up getting there during prime grocery time... I wish we had a photo of the looks on everyone's faces as we sent flashes everywhere with our giant umbrella while Marcela posed with mangos.  The men of Megamart gave us lots of positive "words of encouragement" while the women... well lets just say they weren't too pleased.  The look on one woman's face was as if to say "Umm, can I please just get my produce and get out of here?"  Needless to say, it was definitely the most exciting event to ever take place at that supermercado and I'm glad we were a part of it ;)

Thank you to Marshall for photographing/editing the "fruits" of our labor :)
