Gnarly

This is the closest I will get to any form of surfing...

Photos by Waverly Bair

Tunic- Violet Boutiqe, Removable Collar tips- La Petite Marmoset (here), Skirt- Ann Taylor (via Buffalo Exchange), Spiked Cuff- She's Unique, Watch- belongs to LPM Ashley, Wedges- UrbanOG.com

The first and last time I tried to surf was during spring break my freshman year of college--- I was feeling over confident in my ability to tackle new physical activities-- besides, if  Kate Bosworth could hang ten, why couldn't I? (duh, stunt doubles)  That hubris lasted all of about 10 seconds when the board and I flew in opposite directions, landed in an awkward series of splashes, and left me with a royally skinned knee.  *Cue clapping from my friends on the beach*

Safety First

It's lemon-lime time baby.

Photos by Charlyndria Horton

Bustier and clutch- Violet Boutique, Pencil Skirt- Vintage (La Petite Marmoset --here--), Collar- Made by my aunt, Cross bracelet- She's Unique, Red beaded bracelet- gift from Peru, Watch- someone left it here? Shoes- Jessica Simpson, Sunnies- borrowed from SpicyCandyDC

DC's unsexily sweaty, makes-you-wish-you-lived-in-Antarctica/a nudist colony summer is in full effect! Every year in January I pray for this day to come, and every year in June I take it all back.  Thankfully, this year bustiers are considered appropriate attire (yes!).  I'm a particularly big fan of this one, which allows for emergency air ventilation--- you know, just in case you get overheated in the 107 degree weather and need to unzip.  The bf supports this safety measure...

Supermercado: LPM Mini Lookbook April

This is actually what I wear to run errands...

Shoes: All Caps by Azalea c/o Solestruck Shoes

All Clothes from La Petite Marmoset

So what do you do with two hours, a model and a photographer on a Thursday afternoon? Have a photo shoot at the Latino grocery store of course!  For our April mini lookbook we "invaded" our local MegaMart to shoot neons and brights---- imagine a modern day bad ass Chiquita Banana in 6-inch platforms from Solestruck.  We wanted to shoot earlier but were delayed and ended up getting there during prime grocery time... I wish we had a photo of the looks on everyone's faces as we sent flashes everywhere with our giant umbrella while Marcela posed with mangos.  The men of Megamart gave us lots of positive "words of encouragement" while the women... well lets just say they weren't too pleased.  The look on one woman's face was as if to say "Umm, can I please just get my produce and get out of here?"  Needless to say, it was definitely the most exciting event to ever take place at that supermercado and I'm glad we were a part of it ;)

Thank you to Marshall for photographing/editing the "fruits" of our labor :)
