Bloomers and Breadsticks

Anyone ever see the movie Bedknobs and Broomsticks? I just thought of that as I read the title of this post back to myself (a totally underrated kids movie).  

Wore these high waisted bloomers to Mother's day lunch yesterday-- there are always a few people who give me funny looks not knowing what to make of them (are they shorts? A short skirt? Skirt-ish shorts? A skort? *Frustration sets in*)  I happen to love them and their illusionary leg slimming powers!  

"Ever since I moved to this country 7 years ago, I've seen commercials for Olive Garden and all the food looks soooo good! It is my dream to go there!" my Grandma told us yesterday (She's been talking about this forever!). Congrats Olive Garden on an amazing marketing strategy-- my Grandma doesn't need to speak English to understand fresh garlic breadsticks bouncing in slow motion (can you blame her?). We decided to make her dream come true and made the trek to not one but two different restaurants to find one that met her decorative expectations.  She squealed with delight when she finally received her entree, and after we limped through sinfully rich deserts, she thanked everyone for "one of the best meals ever."

Leonardo Da Vinci once wrote "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication"-- I love that about my Grandma :)
