I've been looking for a nice affordable pair of d'orsay pumps for a while now--- it must have been fate (/death for my budget) that a new DSW just opened up walking distance from the loft!  I had been strategically avoiding it for a week but then found myself magnetically drawn to the entrance--- it really wasn't my fault.  I love that a nice pair of pointy pumps can instantly turn stretch velvet granny pants into slightly more elegant stretch velvet granny pants.

Dress, clutch, and turquoise ring- Vintage (Via La Petite Marmoset -here-), Boots- Asos

This vintage 60s velvet number used to have an awkwardly itchy mandarin collar. I imagine someone once wore it with go-go boots and a pageboy cap while making peace signs and saying things like "Shagadellic!" Everything in the movies is true right??

 Voila! The turtleneck is gone and it is now a more updated shift dress. White pleather go-go boots will not be completely ruled out...

I thought I was all mint-ed out after summer. I thought wrong--- when Ashley brought in this cast off bridesmaid gown, my inner Boticelli Venus couldn't resist. Did I mention I'm writing a new book called 50 shades of Mint?  Consider this my last sea foam hurrah for the season :)

I love that over-sized novelty sweaters are back in trend for fall--- my last 5 years of hoarding tacky 80s knits has not been in vain! This particular print that Ashley picked up is one of my current favorites in the shop-- there's something surprisingly elegant about the contrasting leaves. Or maybe they're still obnoxious. Tomato Tomahtoe...

Faux Leather Jacket- Rainbow Stores (3 years ago), Blouse and purse- Vintage, Skirt- La Petite Marmoset, Booties- Asos (have gone on many an adventure in these as is evident from the scuff marks)

Do you recognize this skirt? It used to be a vintage sweater and was used in my very first collaboration with Spicy Candy DC (our first fall lookbook which makes me laugh to look back at, but you have to start somewhere!).  We decided to give it new life by turning it into a versatile bodycon skirt--- expect to see a lot more of these coming up soon!

Anytime your daily inner wardrobe dialogue gravitates towards a tutu, you know it's going to be a good day! I love the ladylike velvet scalloped trim on this houndstooth jacket-- gives it that little something extra :)
