February 3-Way Style Challenge: Campus Edition

For the LPM February 3-Way Style Challenge, we decided to change things up a bit-- we went to three DC area schools: Marymount University, Howard, and GW--- and picked 3 girls from each school to wear our reconstructed items. Let me tell you, we were in street style bliss! Every school had their own unique taste and put a different spin on a teal crop top, tribal shorts, and high-low colorblock dress.  Who wore it best? Vote for your favorite school in the poll at the bottom--- the winning set of girls will each receive a $25 gift certificate to La Petite Marmoset (and bragging rights in general)! Poll closes Friday at noon ET.

1) Marymount University
  • Megan, Senior, Fashion Merchandising
  • Carolina, Senior, Fashion Merchandising
  • Meah, Senior, Fashion Merchandising
Carolina, on Marymount style: "There's two different types of people at MU: The Fashion students, and [the rest of the] students. The second you walk into a Fashion class you know that it isn't exactly your finance class. Everyone says we are 'dressed up', but we always frown and explain ...its called making an effort to confirm what you represent--Fashion."

2) Howard University
  • Brianna, Sophomore, Psychology with Political Science Minor
  • Sharifa, Sophomore, Radio/TV/Film with Theatre Minor
  • Alicia, Sophomore, Fashion Merchandising with Political Science Minor
Alicia, on Howard style: "eccentric. Up dated on trends but not too trendy... [everyone brings] each outfit to life with their own personal style." One girl in the lobby where I was waiting said "Everyday walking to class is like a catwalk-- you don't dare wear sweatpants!"

3) George Washington University
  • Dilara, Senior, (International student from Turkey) Economics with Statistics Minor
  • Veronica, Senior, Double Major in International Affairs and Political Science
  • Jamila, Senior, (International student from Azerbaijan) International Affairs with History and Sociology Minor
Veronica, on GW style: "I would say it is very modern/edgy influenced by the large number of international and NYC students. You can definitely see the latest fashion trends outside of Gelman Library and most students usually look very well put together."
